What’s Cookin’? Notes From the Raunchy Rooster Coop

A welcome to the new Raunchy Rooster home, The Dirty Dish and our planned rub-and-sauce lineup.

The Dirty Dish · What’s Cookin’? Notes From the Raunchy Rooster Coop

If you’ve arrived because you knew the rubs under an older name, welcome. We’ve put a new rooster on the sign, kept the flavor lineup that started the conversation, and given the whole operation a stronger personality. Raunchy Rooster Rubs & Sauces is the new home for Richard and his unmistakable sunglasses.

This is the first of our occasional notes from the coop, where we’ll share recipes, useful grilling tips, seasonal cooking ideas, and genuine business updates. Not every post will try to sell you something. Sometimes we just want to tell you how to rescue a batch of vegetables or avoid burning the sauce.

What hasn’t changed

The ten dry-rub flavors remain: Original Recipe, Hard Maple, Hot Rod, Camp Fire, Gold Rush, Prime Cut, Bird Dog, Italian Job, Shore Thing, and Side Hustle. Different meals call for different personalities, and the original lineup gives us room to explore.

We’re still connected to Legacy Acres at Stearns Brook Farm in Milan, New Hampshire, and the rubs retain their small-batch, veteran-developed story. That part isn’t a cartoon. Richard is.

What’s new

First, there’s this website and The Dirty Dish, an editorial home for useful guides and recipe ideas. There’s also the Saucy Rub-O-Meter, which measures the level of attitude Richard imagines you’re bringing to the cookout. It isn’t a spice-heat scale. Please do not use it to decide how many peppers to feed someone.

Second, we’re preparing a complementary sauce collection. The planned names are Original Sin, Sweet on You, Berry Naughty, and Hot & Bothered. These are private-label products with a separate manufacturing source. We’ll share confirmed product details when the labels, ingredients, and sale dates are genuinely ready.

What we’re working on next

Better product pages, clearer pairing suggestions, a useful gift section, and cooking content that makes good barbecue less mysterious. The goal isn’t to be the loudest brand in every search result. It’s to be a brand people remember because the food was good and the site actually helped them cook it.

Stay part of the conversation

Read the guides, send the recipes to a friend, and check back for real updates. When our newsletter signup is active, it’ll use a confirmed opt-in rather than quietly adding anyone who visits the site.

Bigger. Bolder. Better BBQ. For people who go hard in the backyard. Richard has arrived, and he is already acting like he owns the place.
